Tucked away in the latest minutes of Britain's GM regulatory body ACRE - the Advisory Committee on Releases to the Environment - is news that blows so called "coexistence" to pieces: contamination of non-GM maize seed lots in Slovenia by two GMOs - Syngenta's Bt11 and Monsanto's MON810 - both of which are highly controversial and one of which does not have approval to be grown in Slovenia or anywhere else in the EU.

...4.4 Bt11 and MON810 contamination of maize in Slovenia

The secretary informed ACRE that 2001/18 Competent Authorities have had a notification from the European Commission of contamination of seed lots in Slovenia with two GMOS, MON810 and Bt11. Bt11 does not have authorisation for cultivation, indicating that the traceability and labelling trail was not adequate.
