GM maize rejected by hungry / Pusztai lecture in India (31/10/2005)

1.Genetically modified maize rejected
2.Pusztai lecture in India

The continuing dumping of unwanted GM surpluses as food aid (item 1) is unforgivable.

During the last crisis in southern Africa the EU Trade Commissioner openly charged the US with using its foreign aid programme as a means to "dispose of its genetically modified crop surpluses". He pointed out that, "GM-free supplies are available in surplus in southern Africa."

Three years later this scandal continues with the vested interests behind this policy blocking any change - see the New York Times article: African Food for Africa's Starving Is Roadblocked in Congress
